Actor, Chris Evans, is pictured above in a scene from the upcoming sci-fi film, Push. The story depicts several people with special abilities; his character is telekinetic.

Push is a sci- fi action thriller due to appear in theatres February 6th. The film, starring Camilla Belle, Chris Evans, and Dakota Fanning, boasts a young, yet talented cast.

Push features the story of young telekinetic Nick Gant (Chris Evans), who has the ability to move objects, predict the future and even create alternate realities. The introverted Nick seeks refuge in the bustling city of Hong Kong in order to escape the corrupt governmental organization known as "The Division."

The goal of this devious organization is to design an army comprised of psychics, and it cruelly eliminates anyone who shows the least bit of resistance. After being discovered by a young clairvoyant named Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning), Nick teams up with her to find the escaped "pusher"(Camille Belle), who may be the only one capable of bringing down the corrupt Division. Pushers have the powerful, yet potentially dangerous ability to alter the very thoughts of anyone they choose.

When describing their upcoming action film, stars Camilla Belle and Chris Evans both lauded it as more of a "human film" than a super-hero flick and both agreed that it is a bit different than other films in this particular genre. During a phone interview, actor Chris Evans said, "The plot is incredibly entertaining and I'd like to believe that we offer something in the way of special effects that I don't think has been done before. Our director really tried to avoid relying on CGI and green screen.

"For the most part the majority of our special effects were pretty much just done with stunt men and some clever camera work." Considering the fact that his most recent role was the Silver Surfer in the super-hero film Fantastic Four, it may appear that Evans isn't seeking diversity when it comes to the characters or films he chooses.

When asked about this concern, his response was, "Sure there is always the worry of being type-cast; it's a tricky approach you know, it's something you want to stay aware of, but if the pieces to the puzzle fit, you know. For example, if all of the sudden I got an offer for another science fiction film, and it was the right film, and it was a challenging role, despite the fact that I've done a few of those, it would be hard to say no."

Evans added, "Other than the fact that we're dealing with people with extraordinary abilities, I really didn't see too many similarities and there are certainly are no similarities in the character.

"Johnny Storm is in love with the attention and the spotlight, and he's very confident, and very self assured and cannot wait to use his powers. Nick is a character who is on-the-run in hiding, insecure and would just as soon shed his powers if he could." Evans did not discuss any future plans. Beautiful young actress Camilla Belle may not strike viewers as the type to take on a role in an action film, but she thoroughly enjoyed working on the set of Push.

She said, "I have to say, I have so much fun doing action films. There are a couple of big fight scenes and shooting guns and running around. And I got a lot of bruises and cuts and whatnot." When asked if she would take on another action film, she replied "yes" with marked enthusiasm. Both Camilla Belle and Chris Evans enjoyed working with talented young actor Dakota Fanning, whom they both agree is well beyond her years. Evans claims that she has the "vocabulary of a 35 year old." Camilla's opinion of the young starlet is certainly positive as well.

"I just adored working with her, and we became really close too, and I think we really bonded over the fact that we've been working our whole lives and kind of learned on the job. And I would have to keep reminding myself when we go out to dinner and stuff that I was having dinner with a 13-year-old. And that she wasn't my age, you know."

One may even go so far as to say that Fanning boasts the strongest resume out of any of the other cast members, and her inclusion in the film bolsters the film's marketability.

These days, with the economy the way it is, going to see a movie may be considered more difficult for some than in previous years. One student asked Evans why college students should go to see any movie, let alone his own film, Push.

Evans replied, "Well I think movies in general are pretty cheap dates for the most part. I think that's why movies-hopefully ( I should knock on wood), hopefully movies will stay recession-proof. I still think you know, soda and popcorn is still a relatively cheap night." So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Nobody can object to a cheap date tastefully done, and I'm sure you guys out there will appreciate the fact that you aren't being dragged to some torturous chick flick on Valentine's Day, although that is likely to occur anyway.
