Tomorrow, Loyola University will celebrate the dedication of its new School of Education. Peter C. Murrell, Jr., Ph.D., dean of the School of Education, joined Loyola in the summer of 2008, and has been preparing to launch the school since his arrival. The school aims to educate leaders to tackle challenges and issues of urban education.

For the past couple of years, Loyola's Center for Community Service and Justice and the Career Center have partnered to host a nonprofit and community service career fair for Loyola students who are interested in pursuing service opportunities and professional work experience after graduation.

Loyola University held its annual freshman class elections last week to elect its class leaders. Many fliers were posted across campus, many Facebook messages were sent to encourage classmates to vote, and many door-to-door campaigns were conducted, just to seal a vote.

On Friday, October 9th students and professors from Loyola and other surrounding universities flocked to Sellinger Hall 004 to bear witness to the first presentation of The Loyola College Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series, given by Professor Paul Richard Blum, T.
