After a road trip to New York, Loyola returned home for match-ups against the Fairfield Stags and the Niagara Purple Eagles. Led by forward Anthony Johnsonís 23-point eight-rebound effort, Fairfield was able to escape Reitz Arena with a narrow 73-69 victory over Loyola on Thursday Jan.

The Loyola Women's basketball team continued to struggle to find their footing, as they extended their losing streak to four games with losses to Marist and Fairfield. After a disappointing offensive performance against the Siena Saints, the Loyola Women's basketball team appeared to work out some chinks in their chain but could not discourage the output from the Red Foxes of Marist as they lost a heartbreaking contest 63-60 on Sunday Jan.

This coming Sunday will showcase the National Football League in all of its glory. The Saints and the Colts have earned the right to play for the Championship and will undoubtedly engage in a shootout in which the team who has the ball last will raise the Lombardi Trophy, and that alone is enough to sufficiently hype the game.
