Café Care
Living away from home for the first time, we do a lot of growing up and messing up during our college years. This teeter-tottering toward maturity is especially apparent at meal times. So we'd like to give a shout out to the staff of Boulder Garden Café this week for keeping us well fed and staying friendly even when we forget to clean up after ourselves.
Using Your Powers for Good
If you've ever waited in line for Chordbusters tickets you know that three hours sitting on the floor of the Student Center circa 6 a.m. can inspire homicidal tendencies and bring on suspicions of super villainous activity but lately Loyola's performing arts groups have certainly been using their powers of mass crowd appeal for good. The Belles, Chimes and Loyola's Improv Troupe, Bleu Picnic, have held or participated in events to benefit Operation Smile, Relay for Life and Project Mexico.
FAC-tacular
It takes a person with a certain kind of crazy to enjoy pounding away on a treadmill for hour in a room full of perspiring peers so it's a good thing we have a nice place to do it in. With the rock wall, pool and squash courts, the FAC is kind of like a big kids' playground. And with the friendly staff and pristine equipment, our gym manages to have class amidst all the sweat.

Loyola: Infestation
Blame the cold weather, lack of vacuuming, or cozy, little under-carpet passages but regardless of the reason the influx of rodents in Lang has reached critical mass. One mouse is nasty but in an endearing kind of way. You name him Micky or Fifel or some other super creative mouse name and kind of hope he vacates the premises before the trap gets him. But when mice happen in multiples there's naught to do but put on some war paint, choose your weapon and mount the little creeper's head on a toothpick to spell out a very clear message: We Kill Mice Here! It's that or jump up on the furniture and scream.
