Kyle Josko was elected as freshman class president.

On Thursday, October 2nd Student government announced the results for the class of 2012 president, senate, and representatives. The first year students elected Kyle Josko class president. Voting started at midnight on October 1st and ended 3 p.m on Thursday on blackboard. Josko beat out two others opponents for the majority of the votes. Kathryn Karl, director of student affairs, delivered the news in the reading room.

Josko accredited the class of 2012 electing him as president to his outgoing personality. "I tried to meet a lot of people by getting to know them on a personal basis, rather than just a familiar face," he said. "I also made posters and started a Facebook group to spread the word."

As president, Josko will fulfill certain expectations set forth by the SGA. Karl says, " The expectations of the president are to help organize and spearhead the events arranged by the 2012 Assembly. They will meet weekly on their own, and every other Wednesday in the general assembly meetings. He also serves as the voice of the class of 2012 on the Executive Cabinet of the SGA."

Josko insisted to meet these standards and looked forward to engaging himself with the class of 2012. "I am excited about being able to get involved and make a difference," he said.

A few of Josko's ideas to make changes on campus include implementing later service hours in Boulder Garden Cafe, like Primo's. "Students living on the east side of campus shouldn't have to walk so far just to get a bite to eat after eight," Josko mentioned in his platform. He also saw the need for more cash registers in both dining halls to help eliminate the long lines.

His third idea, is one many freshman, and even upperclassmen, would be thrilled to see happen. Josko says, " I really want to try and get Lil' Wayne to perform here for us next year. We deserve someone big."

"I think [Josko] is the kind of kid who can make stuff happen. He is very open to ideas from the students and can communicate well with upperclassmen and adults. If he can get Lil' Wayne to perform for us, he would be a legend" said Terry Creamer, '12.
