To the Class of 2012
As my college career draws to a close, I can’t help but reflect upon all of the choices that have led me to this point. From my decision to attend Loyola, to choosing my double major in English and Spanish, to deciding on a semester abroad in Spain, my choices shaped my experience and, ultimately, shaped the person I have become.

Loyola will change but the friends and memories will remain
I was walking around campus the other day, thinking about how many things have changed since our freshman year. Surf n’ Joes and Salsa Rico have been replaced with more hip chains like Red Mango and Starbucks. What used to be a free parking lot at the library has turned into a study spot for $2.

I believe we need to be mindful in both words and actions. As was brought up during the first event of Sexual Assault Awareness Week, "What is Rape?", statements similar to “that test just raped me” or “I just raped that test” make a grave impact on an individual’s life.

Letter to the Editor
At Loyola’s first Take Back the Night event in 2009, I publically shared my story of sexual assault for the very first time and began the journey of regaining my voice. Now, I would be lying if I told you that I am not aware that I have a particularly magnetic personality.

Letter to the Editor: Take Back the Night demonstrates “Strong Truths Well Lived”
The phrase “Strong Truths Well Lived” is familiar to any Loyola student, staff, or faculty member. It has been plastered on t-shirts, posters, and most recently, Facebook timeline cover photos. I am thrilled that lately, Loyola as a community has chosen to embrace this motto.

Shades of Grey
Loyola Edition
Q: Should Loyola have a bar on campus? Yes – Colleen Mitchell College Prowler identifies Loyola as a bar school. Even if it might be hard for some people to admit, Loyola students definitely go off campus and drink. Perhaps not every student does, but all you need to do to see what I’m talking about is note the emptiness of the dorms on Friday and Saturday nights or, better yet, the parade of taxis waiting outside.

Note from the Editor
While Loyola was on Spring Break, Invisible Children launched what has become one of the most viral videos on the Internet: “Kony 2012.” The goals of this campaign, as stated by IC, are to raise awareness about LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army) violence in Central Africa, and to bring Joseph Kony, founding leader of the LRA, to justice.

Letter to the Editor: ‘Each scar marks a story worth telling’
At Loyola’s first Take Back the Night event in 2009, I publicly shared my story of sexual assault for the very first time and began the journey of regaining my voice. Now, I would be lying if I told you that I am not aware that I have a particularly magnetic personality.
